Keeping up our work…

While we would love to declare Mission Accomplished, the recovery in Coney Island is really just getting started.  As additional government aid trickles into the district, and new programs are launched by City, State and Federal agencies, the needs of local residents, businesses, faith-based organizations, and other community-based stakeholders are still stark.

The #ConeyRecovers collaborative remains active, with many Partner Organizations, and a dedicated Steering Committee of local representatives.  We are continuing our work, serving as an information resource, a local convener, a fundraiser, and a source of support for the community.

The task of recovery is much bigger than us, and success will require many different interests all pulling together.  If you would like to support our efforts, or those of any of our partners, we encourage you to consider making a pledge today.

Instead of rushing to the store…

Instead of a super-gigantic latte, why not give $7 to help someone rebuild their house?

Instead of rushing to the store this Black Friday, give that $5 you were going to spend on a “gadget they’ll re-gift” and give it to those really in need.

This holiday season, spare a buck for those who have had their lives devastated by Hurricane Sandy at www.coneyrecovers.org/donate. We pledge to continue to fight to bring back Coney Island.
