Coney Corps
As part of the commitment to promote workforce development, #ConeyRecovers has launched Coney Corps, a major component of the #ConeyRecovers campaign. Coney Corps is a new set of initiatives designed to provide job and career opportunities and training to impacted residents. Coney Corps will include:
- Job placement resources and business connections;
- Free or low-cost training programs for OSHA, mold remediation, construction skills, and other technical skills;
- Direct employment opportunities in a variety of clean-up and recovery tasks
The skills training component, developed in partnership with Turner Construction Corp, launched in 2013 and trained over 140 individuals in OSHA and Mold Remediation.
Applications for participation with Coney Corps are now available and can be submitted in person at the Alliance for Coney Island offices (1205 Surf Avenue) or at the BCS/Astella offices (1618 Mermaid Avenue).
