American Red Cross: How They're Helping...

So many organizations—local and international—play a role in Coney Island’s ongoing recovery. The American Red Cross shared this story of helping a local family find new apartment after theirs was destroyed by the storm.

The Coney Corps program, which includes training, placement, and skills development for local residents in Coney Island, is made possible in partnership with local organizations like the Suber Foundation and the cooperation of local contractors. Pictured here is Keith Suber (l) and a graduate of Coney Corps’ OSHA class, Wendel (r), who is currently working at a local job site. Together, we are working to put Coney Islanders to work in rebuilding and restoring the neighborhood.
