People without air conditioning, older adults, and people with chronic health conditions are most at risk. Cooling centers will be open. In addition, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for New York City until 11:00 PM. Active children, adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
