THANK YOU, National Grid
It’s worth pausing and saying “thanks” in life as often as possible.
This week, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to National Grid for their work since Hurricane Sandy, not only to restore gas service to their thousands of customers, but also to restore a sense of normalcy, through a variety of grant programs and fee discounts they have offered to residents, businesses, and not-for-profits.
On Thursday, National Grid president Ken Daly presented a check to over 15 businesses and nonprofits that have collectively received over $500,000 in funding, after applying to the Tier 3 Economic Development Program (more info on our grants page). These resources are so helpful, particularly for organizations that have had a hard time accessing other aid monies.
Finally, on Saturday August 17th, National Grid returned to Coney Island to help sponsor the 23rd Annual Sandscultping Competition and Unity Day, which brought thousands of people to the Boardwalk, and gave us in Coney Island an opportunity to celebrate how far we have come since October 29th.
So…National Grid…Coney Island thanks YOU!
