Eleven days ago, at about 7:45 pm, the Coney Island Fun webcam captured this photo of Coney Island’s amusement area. Several minutes later, the power went out to the entire neighborhood—and remains out to this day for many residents and businesses. The water continued to rise well into the evening, only fully receding well into the next day. As neighbors and businesses gathered the next day, we began to take inventory of the major task of rebuilding that lies ahead.
